  • Getting There

    Driving from the North, the car park is found just off the Lyell Highway about 11 km south of Bronte park within eyeshot of the sluice gates.  If driving from the South, continue along the Lyell Highway from Tarraleah toward Bronte Park.  Do not turn off at the Brady’s Lake signpost (this goes to the small village of shacks) but continue until you pass the distinctive sluice gates (around 500m) and turn right into the car park turn off (around 100 metres past the gates).

    Grid ref. DP 458350E 5325300N

  • Parking

    Day visitor parking will be available in a separate location and the organisers request that day visitors use the allocated parking and don’t park in the camping area.

    Camping

    Free camping will provided on the site of the event in designated areas. The organising committee will have an appointed campsite manager who will allocate and oversee sites.

    Campsite etiquette will be important for the event to run successfully particularly in respect to noise or other behaviour which might disturb others. Following customary campsite etiquette the organisers request that noise be kept to a minimum after 10:00 PM.

    There is no power available at the site so you may need to consider your options for charging your electronic gadgets. Generators in the camping area will be tolerated but discouraged after 7.00 pm to allow other campers to enjoy the relative quiet of this bush setting.

    To manage the fire risk and impact on the site campfires will not be permitted in the camping area but there will be a group fire-pit and bbq area available.

    There will be no specific camp fee.

    Rubbish bins will not be provided so you’ll need to take your rubbish home with you.
    Here’s what’s available:
    – free camping;
    – toilets available on site;
    – free gas BBQs;
    – fire pit in the BBQ area;
    – a lake to swim in;

    Here’s what is not available:
    – personal and dish washing facilities;
    – potable tap water but the locals have always used the water coming
    – down the canal;
    – picnic tables;
